Northrop Grumman Test Engineer 2 in Orlando, Florida

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking aTest Engineer 2in the Engineering, Science & Technology (ES&T) Central Region Engineering, Orlando Site. In the Mission Systems sector, you'll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe. The qualified applicant will work in our Orlando, Florida office, headquarters for the Secure Network Operations (SNO) unit.

The integration and test engineer will develop and maintain interoperability test solutions for aircraft simulators. The Engineer will be required to provide hands on hardware/software troubleshooting support while conducting test events with various aircraft simulators. The Engineer will participate in the generation of requirements, development, integration, and testing of internal and external software test suites used for integration.

The Engineer will interact with test engineering, test conductors, contractors, customers, and leadership.

The preferred candidate will possesa desire to gain direct hands-on hardware/software test experience with automated test systems integration, collecting test data, test analysis, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution. He/she will be able to effectively communicate with customers and other contractors via in-person, on the phone, and simulated radios used during test events. And will have the ability to write technical reports proficiently.

The successful candidate will work well with others in a team environment, be highly motivated to learn, and take initiative to improve team processes and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Sciencedegree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related STEM degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Science degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related STEM degree plus0 years of experience.

  • Current, active DoD Secret Clearance; or an activeinterim Secret clearance.

  • Ability to function as self-starter.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with test requirement identification/evaluation.

  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technical field

  • Test procedure and script development and execution at the system level.

  • General knowledge of networking and security practices

  • Understanding of Simulation and Training protocols (i.e. DIS, HLA, TENA, or CTIA)

  • Experience in automated test system design, integration and support.

  • Experience with simulation standards (i.e. IEEE 1278, SISO)

  • Work experience integrating simulators onto networks. Experienced hardware and software integration engineering background.
