Northrop Grumman Associate Engineer Systems/Engineer Systems in Orlando, Florida
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) seeks a Systems Engineer for a fast-paced, growing, dynamic position supporting two exciting business lines in Orlando, Florida. The NGDS Live & Synthetic Air Domain Network (L&SADN) unit is an industry leader in developing, integrating, and sustaining complex systems for the US Department of Defense (DoD). The L&SADN systems support simulation and training programs for the US Air Force, enabling a worldwide distributed mission training capability over secure networks.
Systems Engineer primary responsibilities are:
Perform technical planning, requirements analysis and development, cost and risk tradeoff analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Review and analyze system requirements and identify impacts to the appropriate requirements and/or design specifications
Support system specification updates and associated performance enhancements and interface development/upgrade efforts
In addition, the candidate must be a team player, able to work comfortably and effectively with company team members as well as program stakeholders and DoD contractor personnel using strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills. Also, the candidate may be required to travel in support of customer interface, technical interchange meetings, on-site technical support, and event/exercise support.
Engineer Systems: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in the field of Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or STEM major and 2 years of applicable experience.
Associate Engineer Systems: Recently completed, or in process of completing, Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in the field of Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or STEM major and 2 years of applicable experience.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Experience working within formal engineering & development processes for the development of complex systems
Ability to compose materials such as detailed reports, work-related manuals, publications
Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Active US DoD Secret clearance
Demonstrated Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with Cameo or MagicDraw
Experience working in an Agile Environment
Certified Agile Scrum Master
Experience with project management tools (e.g. Jira, other Atlassian tools)
Experience performing computer system and software performance analysis
Experience with distributed simulation protocols such as DIS, HLA, TENA
Experience with Rational DOORS or equivalent requirements management tool
Familiarization with computer networking and cyber security principles and practices
