Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Systems Engineer for a fast-paced, growing, dynamic position supporting simulation and training programs in Orlando, Florida. NGDS is an industry leader in developing, integrating, and sustaining complex systems for the US Department of Defense. Our engineering teams perform a variety of tasks leading to the successful integration, test, deployment, and sustainment of complex Modeling & Simulation (M&S) systems, enabling a worldwide-distributed mission training capability.

Systems Engineer

Perform model-based systems engineering (MBSE) development activities to produce digital engineering design artifacts

  • Perform technical planning, requirements analysis and development, verification and validation, cost and risk tradeoff analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems

  • Support system specification updates and associated performance enhancements and interface development/upgrade efforts

  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

  • Review and analyze system requirements and identify impacts to the appropriate requirements and/or design specifications

  • Identify integration issues and system requirements discrepancies across multiple systems

  • Possesses proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience authoring complex technical documentation and design review content.

The candidate sought should be a team player, able to work comfortably and effectively with company team members as well as program stakeholders and DoD contractor personnel. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills is key to success on our team. In addition, the candidate may be required to travel to interface with the customer and other stakeholders, attend technical interchange meetings, provide on-site technical support, and assist with event/exercise support.

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's) from an accredited institution.

  • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM degree

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.2.5/4.0 or higher
