The Palmdale Center of Excellence Lab Operations, Engineering and Test Department is looking for a passionate and dedicated Mission System Test Section Manager to join our Oklahoma City team. As a manager in our Systems Integration and Test team, you will lead a team of system test engineers that verify subsystem and system level hardware and software functionality for an advanced technology program, the B-2 Spirit program.
This person will manage a group of 12 to 15 engineers and will be responsible for maintaining and updating the test process as necessary. The position will be expected to manage scope/effort and build task assessments as well as bidding on new projects.
The selected candidate will be responsible for and accountable to manage day-to-day tasks of a team of 12-15 engineers and test conductors. You will also be responsible for management of costs and schedules and to build estimates and proposals for new projects. Ongoing tasking includes, but is not limited to: decisions regarding awards, performance evaluations, salary review process, staffing, employee movement between programs, balancing resources among programs, employee development and mentoring, ensuring proper charging practices are followed, meeting indirect budget targets, and interpreting higher level guidance for implementation within the organization.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 7 years aerospace engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience in aerospace engineering; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 2 years of aerospace engineering experience.
At least 3 years of relevant aerospace test experience (lab, ground, or flight)
Demonstrated experience leading people
Demonstrated experience managing technical execution
Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain program access.
Solid technical understanding of avionics systems and architectures
Ability to interface with all levels of functional and program management
Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technical projects from inception through completion with the ability to manage several tasks/projects simultaneously
Ability to manage cost, schedule, and technical performance of SOW elements
Experience coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, and spend plans.
Risk and opportunity management experience
Customer relationship experience
Ability to analyze data and extract trends, anomalies, and errors.
