Northrop Grumman Engineer Mechanical 4 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
The Hardware Lead is responsible for analysis, research, coordination and approval of engineering data items including, technical reports, specifications, models and drawings for all externally contracted sections of the structure and subsystems for all purchase orders.
-Technical coordination between external contractors, Northrop team, and the customer.
-Oversight and approval of external contractor designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
-Responsible for verifying completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning and coordinate with Northrop engineering.
-Responsible for evaluating component design factors such as ease of manufacture, interchangeability, replace-ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements including:
a.Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling
b.Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
(In this case Boeing and/or NGC-AS as applicable.)
-Responsible for oversight and coordination of Northrop hardware component designs/drawings including both electrical and structural components that require interface control drawings being provided to the contractor including identifying design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
-Responsible for coordination with other organizations affected by contractor design and/or development including, but not limited to Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and all Northrop Engineering Disciplines.
-Responsible for coordination, review and approval of subcontractor data item deliverables that are technical submissions requiring review and approval by Northrop within 10 business days prior to final approval by the SMT Manager. Identifies errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions.
-9 years with Bachelors, 7 years with Masters, or 4 years with a PhD Engineering degree in an ABET certified program.
You must have an active DoD Secret and a background investigation within the scope of six years.
