NG's Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. You will become part of Northrop Grumman's Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS). LSMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-2 Bomber, E-3 Sentry, Airborne Warning and Control System, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.

  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal

  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Systems Engineering focal for assigned projects, coordinating effort between internal and supplier technical teams during pre-production, production, and return to storage project phases within technical, schedule, and cost constraints

  • Anticipate, monitor, and drive resolution of risk, issues, and opportunities associated with the development and implementation of assigned projects.

  • Collect, review, and ensure completeness of Technical Data Package (TDP) for contract deliverables

  • Participate in the preparation of engineering basis of estimates to support proposals for future work

  • Perform or manage functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware specifications

  • Review drawings and specifications required to manufacture composite parts for producibility and submit Request for Change/Information (RC/Is) as required

  • Assist as necessary the Manufacturer's planners in creation of new planning for composite components

  • Review as necessary the Manufacturer's Manufacturing Top-Down Breakdown (MFG Process flow) based on Engineering requirements, including identification of required tooling

Basic Required Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:

  • A Bachelors in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 5+ years of experience OR a Master's in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 3+ years of experience or a PhD in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 0 years of experience

  • Experience in requirements management, test, or hardware design/development

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance and the a bility to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR)

Basic Required Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

  • A Bachelors in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 9+ years of experience OR a Master's in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 7+ years of experience or a PhD in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience

  • Experience in requirements management, test, or hardware design/development

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset

  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance and the a bility to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of requirements management and verification best practices

  • Experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, or other 3-D CAD software tools

  • Experience with point-cloud data analysis

  • Knowledge of production planning, tooling, and manufacturing

  • Familiarity with aircraft systems to include structures, composites, and flight controls

  • Active PAR is preferred

Salary Range: $85,600 - $128,400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
