Northrop Grumman is looking for a level 5 Staff Material Program Manager that is responsible and accountable for the execution of material schedule and budget for Advanced Weapons Business Unit. The Material Program Manager (MPM) is a unique position that requires strategic thinking as well as tactical execution. A successful MPM can work with minimal supervision to solve complex problems to ensure both short term and long term success of their respective program. An MPM would need to possess strong hard skills to execute plans to completion, as well as soft skills to appropriately work with multiple disciplines, and communicate challenges to multiple stakeholders. It is a rare position to stretch your skillsets and test your abilities making real impact on the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrated ability in EVMS (earned value management system)

  • Financial responsibilities including EAC's, material sales forecasting, accruals, and CAM responsibilities

  • Ability to confidently present and represent Northrop Grumman Global Supply Chain in Program Management Reviews, leadership briefings, and customer briefings

  • Ability to creatively solve complex supply chain problems with data driven strategies

  • Demonstrated aptitude in identified Risks and Opportunities to the program

  • Consistently work on supply and demand to proactively identify gaps and work to eliminate them

  • Escalate critical material shortages immediately upon identification and own the efforts to resolve them

  • Ability to resolve short term problems while maintaining long term success of the program

  • Implement solutions to overcome current & future Material Shortages Coordinate and optimize Delivery schedules with critical Suppliers

  • Challenge business impediments to excellence and continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated ability to lead others through dynamic and fluid environments

  • Ensure program-wide focus on safety, reliability, cost, and schedule and adequacy of systems, procedures, people and selection of companies (companies, strategic partners) for long term success

  • Oversee program planning and execution through applicable phases to support prime program requirements: concept, exploration, engineering development, advanced development, production, sustainment, retirement, etc.

  • Total supply chain execution for assigned program(s) from proposal through product delivery

  • Ability to mentor, lead, and organize others to achieve a common goal.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to work an amazing work schedule (4/10 Shift schedule - Monday-Thursday)

  • High school diploma/GED AND a minimum of eighteen (18) years of supply chain planning experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and fifteen (15) years supply chain planning experience; OR a Master's degree and thirteen (13) years supply chain planning experience

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government issued Secret clearance; US citizenship is required

  • Intermediate user with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Material Program Management and/or Supply Chain Management experience working on prime defense programs

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong Program and Budget Management skills

Desired Experience

  • Deltek Costpoint experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Understanding of Government Procurement processes and regulations

  • Lean and Six Sigma Training and/or Certification desired

  • Experience leading and support prime proposal efforts

  • Expert excel ability including pivot tables, macros, and VBA

Salary Range: $132,700 - $199,100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
