Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Northridge, CA is currently seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer / Principal Modeling and Simulation Engineer with a current/active clearance to join our team to work on Advanced Programs.

In this role, you will be working with other engineers and analysts to develop new and/or integrate existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. Simulate real-time operations and develop software that simulates behavior of systems. Develop integrate and use advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. Model operational environments, perform trade studies via computer simulation and recommend alternative architectures. Perform operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.

This role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities :

• Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks assessing system survivability, system effectiveness, and overall system performance in engagement / mission-level scenarios

• Perform trade studies and simulation analyses with the objective of enhancing and optimizing system performance capabilities

• Develop performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models for new and/or existing system simulation frameworks

Some relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for a Modeling and Simulation Engineer (T02) are:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics AND 2+ years modeling, simulation, and analysis of Aerospace Systems, Systems Analysis, and Design, OR

• MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics and 0 years of experience.

• Current/active U.S Government issued DoD Secret Clearance; clearance must have been issued/adjudicated in the past five (5) years.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Modeling and Simulation Engineer (T03) are:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics. 5+ years modeling, simulation, and analysis of Aerospace Systems, Systems Analysis, and Design

• MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics. 3+ years modeling, simulation, and analysis of Aerospace Systems, Systems Analysis, and Design

• Current/active U.S Government issued DoD Secret Clearance; clearance must have been issued/adjudicated in the past five (5) years.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics

• Knowledge of C++, MATLAB, and Simulink

• Knowledge of RF threat modeling
