We are in search of a Software Engineer 2 to work within a team of 10-15 engineers to design and develop a Learning Management web based software application (LMS). This LMS is used to administer, track and deliver training content to Navy installations, both shore-based and shipboard. This position will require some travel to support software installations.

This software engineer will perform the following tasks:

  • Design and develop Java applications

  • Design and develop Angular Applications using HTML/CSS

  • Perform source code management using GitLab and CI/CD Development Lifecycle

  • Perform full software lifecycle of development, test and evaluation, installation and both distance and onsite support

  • Travel to support both shore-based classrooms and shipboard installations

  • Develop documentation to support the system and organize LMS content


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or other related engineering sciences discipline with 2 years experience or a Masters degree with 0 years experience

  • 2 years' experience in software engineering

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance (US citizenship required)

  • Experience in software architecture and design

  • Experience with Java

  • Experience with Angular Web Applications

  • Experience with HTML/CSS

  • Experience with source code management, i.e. GitLab

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret security clearance

  • Database development and management experience

  • Spring Boot Framework experience

  • Agile software development, DevSecOps and CI/CD Development Lifecycle

  • Technical writing experience developing system documentation
