Northrop Grumman Field Service Supervisor 1 in New Orleans, Louisiana

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a well-qualified Field Service Supervisor 1. In our multinational organization this leadership role is based in Sperry Marine's New Orleans office leading a team of 9 field engineers

across three offices. The person will support our external and internal customers and is part of our world- wide service function.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading and coaching a team of field engineers providing first class service for product installation, maintenance and repair world-wide

  • Liaising closely with internal stakeholder functions advising on technical feasibility and customer demands

  • Making service recommendations to customers and providing cost calculations

  • Liaising closely with the business development function for customer acquisition

  • Providing technical support to customers and field engineers world-wide

  • Checking technical drawings for upcoming product installations

  • Analyzing and reporting of possible product issues

  • Forecasting and tracking of department budget and reporting key metrics

  • Ensuring compliance with company regulations and legal requirements

  • Occasional business travels and customer visits

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent technical training

  • Minimum five years exp in electrical and/or mechanical engineering or equivalent technical qualification

  • Minimum five years work exp in a technical service environment

  • Very good leadership and people management skills and experience

  • Very good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Marine experience and product knowledge of gyros, speed logs, steering systems and autopilots

  • Experience in customer acquisition

  • Previous Supervisory experience
