As a Software Engineer, you'll be working within an agile environment in our growing Software Development team with creative and ambitious Software Engineers. Reporting into the Multi-Domain Integration team, you’ll have the chance to work on Enterprise Java, C and C++, where your experience will cover a range of technologies to help provide multi-domain Command and Control (C2) solutions for our customers internationally. You’ll be at the forefront of developing systems which keep the UK and our allies safe.

As well as developing and supporting UK wide and internationally deployed multi-domain command and control systems, our work is critical to the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. Responsibilities:

  • Work in Agile feature delivery teams to design, build, deliver and support critical customer systems using the latest techniques and technologies

  • Assist with the set up/design of a project's software and hardware development environment, and CI/CD pipeline

  • Take responsibility for ensuring work packages are completed on schedule and within budget

  • Build up technical knowledge of company’s existing products and any new product and project developments

  • Be pro-active in keeping products up to date with evolving technologies

We are looking for:

  • Proven experience in design, development, test and integration of quality software

  • Experience in object-orientated software design and programming using Enterprise Java, C and C++ Understanding of Service-Oriented and Web-Oriented Architectures

  • Fluency in software configuration management, such as Git/BitBucket

  • Keenness to learn a broad range of technologies in native environments and on the Java stack

  • Experience of developing Geospatial and mapping applications would be beneficial

  • As will having UX design or UI design skills, particularly in respect of desktop applications
