A key member of the NGUK Defence Systems Engineering (SE) team, this role supports various aspects of large UK Defence, Cyber and Intelligence Programmes, providing our customers with timely delivery within budget.
The role will provide opportunity to conduct SE activities throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept through to in-service, of complex integrated maritime systems in the UK Defence Sector. Our products support the operation of the UKs’ most important Naval assets. Your technical expertise will support the development and growth of SE expertise within NGUK.

As well as developing and supporting UK wide and internationally deployed multi-domain command and control systems, our work is critical to the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. Responsibilities:
Accountable for completion of Systems Engineering activities throughout the entire project lifecycle
Support the implementation of Systems Engineering processes
Support/lead stakeholder technical reviews
Engage multi-discipline teams to facilitate successful delivery
Ensure delivery in accordance with company standards of conduct
Your Skills and Experience:
Proven experience and knowledge of Systems Engineering models, techniques, lifecycle planning, delivering and reporting
Experience of requirements development, design, integration and acceptance
Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering/Software/Hardware engineering (SE processes and methodologies (iaw. ISO 15288/INCOSE))
Strong team player with good people and communication skills
Systems thinking, logical approach, RCA/rectification/regression management
Engaging ‘can do’ attitude
Engaging customer focus,
Strong technical writing skills
Desirable/Acquirable:
Experience using requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS, Enterprise Architect or similar)
Experience using MBSE tools and techniques such as Enterprise Architect, Bizz Design, No Magic, SysML, UML, ArchiMate, TOGAF, SOSAF, or UAF
Knowledge and experience of agile principles using scrum framework
Knowledge of marine electronic equipment and/or the marine environment
Familiar with military environmental standards (e.g. DEF STAN 00-35, 59-411)
Knowledge and experience of safety critical systems (SIL 2 / 3)
INCOSE Associate/Chartered Systems Engineering Professional
