Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector has a requirement for a Mechanical Subsystems Integration Engineer 4 at our Melbourne, Florida facility. The candidate will be part of a dynamic team providing the assurance of subsystems, including their integration and sustainment of military aircraft mechanical and hydraulic systems. The candidate shall have professional experience in military aircraft and mechanical subsystems. The candidate shall be able to work both independently and as part of a large multi-disciplined team. The candidate must have excellent communication, organization and coordination skills. The candidate will prepare presentation and documentation in support of design and development activities.
The candidate will manage and facilitate integration of functional and operational interfaces of equipment and software across individual subsystem teams with the VMS team. Includes conducting and contributing to design integration and IFC planning reviews, managing functional and operational interfaces of equipment and software in the ICDs and SRDs for consistency, accuracy, and quality, managing adherence to integration interfaces, and facilitating coherent integration with the VMS team and major supplier teams. Must possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of functional and operational interfaces across all vehicle subsystems equipment and software with the VMS, especially in regards to IFC, redundancy management, and digital interfaces. Ensure zero functional/operational integration escapes of the vehicle subsystems equipment and software with the VMS. Must be proficient in CORE and Microsoft Project. Proficiency in DOORS and Common PLM (or equivalent) preferred.
Bachelor of Science degree is Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 9 years’ experience directly related to aircraft functional and operational interfaces across all vehicle subsystems equipment and software with the VMS, especially in regards to IFC, redundancy management and digital interfaces or Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 7 years of experience directly related to aircraft VMS system development and analysis, as well as proven engineering team leadership and supplier management skills. Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering plus a Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Technical Management, or an MBA. Experience with AMESim fluid system modeling tool, NX and TeamCenter, Matlab-Simulink.
