Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr Principal Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Position is located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:

The Software Engineer will develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized applications using software engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full life-cycle of software development. The following will also be within their responsibilities:

  • Supports Infrastructure as code development and deployment of DevOps Pipeline

  • Responsible for implementation of an agile scrum teams scrum meetings/processes

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military software and/or systems engineering experience, OR a Master's degree AND 7 years of related professional/military software and/or systems engineering experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military software and/or systems engineering experience.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 5 years).

  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) prior to start

  • Must have demonstrated experience in Cloud based networking design, to include IP address planning, switching, and routing

  • Experience on a scrum team utilizing Atlassian Suite tools

  • Experience with Software development languages: C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, .NET Core, Azure DevOps

  • Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket for CI/CD

Preferred Qualifications

  • DOD Secret or Top Secret/SCI level Security Clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD Degree in Electronics, Computer or Electrical Engineering

  • Web Application development experience

  • Experience in container (Kubernetes) based development

  • Experience with virtual cloud solutions/ architecture

  • Experience working within an Agile environment serving as a Product Owner or Scrum Master

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Salary Range: $112,000 - $168,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
