Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Reliability Engineer OR Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL , operating on our 9/80 schedule meaning you will get every Friday off. This position has no opportunity for remote or Hybrid work.
The Engineer will be assigned work in the Product Support organization performing System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis. Candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and verifying subsystem R&M performance requirements for all design changes and new development efforts to ensure that R&M program requirements are achieved. The primary responsibility of the position will be reliability, maintainability, and testability.
"This requisition may be filled as either a Principal Reliability Engineer or a Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer."
Essential Functions:
Perform R&M allocations and predictions.
Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) analysis
Perform Built in Test (BIT) testability analysis
Develop mission reliability analysis
Support the development of teams in the investigation of issues
Familiarity with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Experience with Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
Experience with maintainability demonstrations
Experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
Liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers for the R&M of assigned subsystems
Basic Qualifications Principal Reliability Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 5 years' relevant experience; OR a Master's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 3 years' experience; OR 0 years with PhD.
Must have experience in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline.
Must have the ability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by the company to meet business needs.
Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 9 years' relevant experience; OR a Master's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 7 years' relevant experience; OR PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 4 years' relevant experience.
Must have experience in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline.
Must have the ability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by the company to meet business needs.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
5 years of experience in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline
Excellent oral and written communication & interpersonal skills
Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
Active, In scope DoD Secret clearance within the last 5 years with Special Program Access

Salary Range: $82,000 - $123,000
Salary Range 2: $101,600 - $152,400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
