Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a highly motivated Principal Flight Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test & Evaluation organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL .
In this role you will be primarily supporting the MDC2 Flight Test Team. You will be providing support for all system test activities, to include test planning, creation of required test procedures, post test data analysis, creation of problem reports, and reporting on test results.
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in development, execution and peer review of test procedures
Participating in both Formal and Non-Formal Test execution events
Participating in test planning, problem report validation testing, and post testing data analysis
Providing support in the creation of required test artifacts
Attending and participating in all Flight Test meetings
Maintain a strong professional work ethic and work in a team-based environment

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
Professional experience with generating technical documents, test planning & reporting.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, with an Interim Top Secret being required prior to start of employment.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary, to support flight test and lab schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline
Strong understanding of flight test methodologies and engineering test practices
Experience as a Flight Test Conductor.
Salary Range: $95,300 - $142,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
