Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer - Nuclear Surety to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The successful candidate will be a specialty engineer supporting the Systems Engineering Nuclear Surety team. The chosen candidate will perform and support evaluations soft designs for nuclear surety requirement compliance and support IPTs on the implementation and demonstration of nuclear surety requirement compliance to include hardware, software, and test support.
The successful candidate will support Nuclear Safety Design Certification activities to produce required artifacts in accordance with AFI 63-125, lead and support nuclear surety planning, certification assessments, and risk and vulnerability activities to include Fault Tree and Signal Path analysis. The candidate will also perform and support nuclear surety requirements allocation, DOORS implementation, verification, and validation activities while coordinating with key stakeholders such as NNSA, NSA, AFNWC, AFSEC, and AFGSC.

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relative experience OR
Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of related experience
Phd degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 0 years of related experience
Experience with military aircraft design and/or operation to include requirements verification and certification
This position requires an active and in-scope (within 6 years) DoD Secret level security clearance.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Experience with Nuclear Safety Design Certification to include AFMAN-91-118/91-119 compliance
Experience with Fault Tree Analyses, Signal Path Analyses, and Technical Risk assessments
Experience with Nuclear Certification process per AFI 61-125
Demonstrated experience with nuclear certification stakeholders such NNSA, NSA, AFNWC, AFSEC, and AFGSC
An active, in scope DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance
