The successful candidate will develop structural analyses (static, fatigue, durability and damage tolerance) in support of design activities, structural modifications, drawing release, fleet maintenance, and manufacturing operations. The candidate will perform FEM and classical hand analysis including, but not limited to, free body diagrams, internal or external loading, shear and moment diagrams, and calculation of internal stresses and component life as necessary. Candidates should be self-starters and be able to handle multiple tasks in parallel. Candidates should be able to develop solutions to difficult problems with general guidance that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives. The ability to concisely present and explain structural issues and solutions to internal (team members / management) is required; therefore strong documentation and communication skills are required.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years' experience in structural analysis; or Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 3 years' experience in structural analysis.
Active In-scope DoD secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain special program access.
Experience with metallic and composite structures.
Experience with random vibration analysis.
Experience with finite element modeling, specifically FEMAP/NX Nastran/CAE NX.
Ability to identify and analyze critical load paths.
