We have an incredible opportunity for someone to join our team as a Mission Systems Lead - Manager 3 based out of Melbourne, FL!

The Mission Systems Lead reports up to the Chief Engineer of Advanced Programs and will lead a team being responsible for the overall development, analysis and integration of the Missions Systems elements and modernization opportunities for the air vehicle. Mission Systems elements include, but not limited to the development and integration of advanced RFEW systems, physical and functional network and processing architectures, on-board mission planning/auto re-route, impacts to mission systems displays (software only)/crew station integration, sensor & effects fusion management, emissions control management, weapons & support management, and mission systems health & status management.

This person will manage all aspects (technical, risk, cost & schedule) being responsible for detailed development, tracking and validation of existing requirements, specific architecture, ICDs, requirements, deriving new requirements for growth capabilities and necessary lab, ground and flight test analysis. They will also oversee the technical aspects of supplier management and supplier performance. This includes managing existing capabilities and supporting technology developments for future capabilities. They will coordinate with all respective IPTs, working closely with the Chief Architect, along with the SEIT, DevOps and Air Vehicle leads. Ideally they will have working knowledge of RF (radars, electronic warfare, and communications) and EO/IR (wide area surveillance and IRST) systems and weapons, mission employment concepts, communications and ground elements.

Must have experience in mission management and surveillance aircraft. DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR access for Advanced Programs is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a technical team, in planning and implementation of multiple tasks across multiple efforts

  • Requirements development/analysis, tracking, architecture/ICDs definition, design, build and integration & test

  • Fostering teamwork amongst all team members

  • Collaboration with peers to build expertise, depth, and breadth throughout the NGC enterprise

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related field with at least 10 years of demonstrated experience

  • Technical understanding of mission systems (radars, electronic warfare, and communications) and EO/IR (wide area surveillance and IRST) systems and weapons, mission employment concepts, communications and ground elements, requirements definition, derivation and management.

  • Proven leadership experience successfully fostering a collaborative team environment

  • U.S. citizen and with an active Top Secret clearance.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR access to Advanced Programslocated at the Melbourne Manned Aircraft Design Center

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess effective communication and presentation skills, being highly proficient in technical problem solving, including decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring

  • Experienced in all aspects of the engineering process, from requirements analysis through retirement and a working familiarity with the Program Execution Framework

  • Application of rigorous systems engineering processes to improve and deliver exemplary program technical execution on a large scale

  • Previous experience leading a team involved in mission management, crew station integration, etc... to include both software and hardware development

  • Experience as the technical focal point for Supplier Management Teams
