The Product Support Logistics Engineering and Analysis Department is seeking an Engineering Manager 1 in Melbourne, FL to manage the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) department daily operations and lead a team of obsolescence management analysts and engineers. This role includes the management of people, processes, assets, and budget related to the execution of a proactive obsolescence management program.

Essential Functions include:

  • Employee development and engagement

  • Employee performance reviews

  • Performance monitoring and development of performance metrics

  • Establish customer relationships; co-chair DMSMS Management Team (DMT)

  • Drive process effectiveness and improvements

  • Direct budget planning with assigned cost account manager

  • Special assignments in support of the functional home room

  • Additional responsibilities will include development of proficiency in proactive obsolescence management

  • Establish methodology for DMSMS configuration management via the obsolescence management database

  • Management of obsolescence forecasting and technology roadmap integration

  • Participation in the GME&L obsolescence management technical leadership effort

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university / college with 3 years leadership experience

  • Must-have documented experience in managing people and projects

  • Must-have Strong communication skills, including experience presenting and interfacing with customers and program leadership

  • Must-have the ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in STEM discipline

  • Strong working knowledge of proactive obsolescence management processes

  • Strong working knowledge of database management, CPLM work flow; information technology

  • Experience in Configuration and Data Management

  • Experience mentoring new hires and encouraging employee engagement

  • Strong understanding of Global Supply Chain and the supplier management process

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skillsel

  • Proficient with standard Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Active Secret/SAP clearance
