The Product Support Logistics Engineering and Analysis Department is seeking an Engineering Manager 1 in Melbourne, FL to manage the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) department daily operations and lead a team of obsolescence management analysts and engineers. This role includes the management of people, processes, assets, and budget related to the execution of a proactive obsolescence management program.
Essential Functions include:
Employee development and engagement
Employee performance reviews
Performance monitoring and development of performance metrics
Establish customer relationships; co-chair DMSMS Management Team (DMT)
Drive process effectiveness and improvements
Direct budget planning with assigned cost account manager
Special assignments in support of the functional home room
Additional responsibilities will include development of proficiency in proactive obsolescence management
Establish methodology for DMSMS configuration management via the obsolescence management database
Management of obsolescence forecasting and technology roadmap integration
Participation in the GME&L obsolescence management technical leadership effort
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university / college with 3 years leadership experience
Must-have documented experience in managing people and projects
Must-have Strong communication skills, including experience presenting and interfacing with customers and program leadership
Must-have the ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
BS degree in STEM discipline
Strong working knowledge of proactive obsolescence management processes
Strong working knowledge of database management, CPLM work flow; information technology
Experience in Configuration and Data Management
Experience mentoring new hires and encouraging employee engagement
Strong understanding of Global Supply Chain and the supplier management process
Strong analytical and problem solving skillsel
Proficient with standard Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Active Secret/SAP clearance
