Software Functional Manager role for the E-2 program. Position is a dual-hat; performing functional management activities 15 - 20% of the time, as well as the individual's program responsibilities approximately 80 - 85% of the time.
Ideal role for someone who is ambitious, takes ownership of hard problems has vision and can execute.
It is essential this person has a strong technical background in software development, including but not limited to; software requirements and software design.
Annual engagement survey coordination
New business acquisition, proposal and special projects support
Assist with staff workload forecast preparation
Identifying and implementing new or improved tools and processes to increase team efficiency
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Leads Engineering teams with program execution
Mentor Engineers on all phases of the Program
Creates, reviews, and maintains critical documentation

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9-years of experience in software engineering OR a Master's degree in (STEM) with 7-years in software engineering OR a PhD degree in (STEM) with 5-years in software engineering
Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle including Software Design and Analysis
Experience in technical leadership or management
Experience leading or managing within a team environment
At minimum, an active DoD Interim Secret clearance level clearance is required to apply and to start the role on Day-1. Additionally, requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance with Program Special Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline related field.
Software development using the Agile Framework.
Demonstrated leadership of engineering personnel on a Northrop Grumman Corporation program to include software development life-cycle
Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Software Development processes, SEI CMMI Level 3 or higher, AS9100, or DO-178.
Proven track record leading high-performing development teams.
Cost account management "CAM" experience
Business development and/or proposal experience.
Relevant experience from the Defense and/or Aerospace industry.
Open Mission Systems (OMS) in design and implementation.
Systems Integration in both lab and aircraft environments.
Top Secret DoD Security clearance.
Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning (AI/ML) algorithms and techniques.
