Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager, Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida. The candidate will manage both the Reliability, Maintainability and Test (RM&T) team and the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) team. The manager will coordinate a team of 15-18 reliability/obsolescence management engineers and analysts. This role includes the management of people, processes, assets, and budget related to the execution of R&M objectives and a proactive obsolescence management program.

Essential Functions include:

  • Employee development and engagement

  • Employee performance evaluations

  • Performance monitoring and development of performance metrics

  • Establish customer relationships

  • Drive process effectiveness and improvements

  • Direct budget planning with assigned cost account manager

  • Special assignments in support of the functional homeroom

  • Coordinate and lead RM&T analyses (predictions, FMECA, BIT, FTA, FRACAS, HALT, RGT, ESS, etc...)

  • Additional responsibilities will include development of proficiency in proactive obsolescence management

  • Establish methodology for DMSMS configuration management via the obsolescence management database

  • Management of obsolescence forecasting and technology roadmap integration

  • Participation in the Logistics and Modernization technical leadership teams

  • Coordinate and maintain working relationships across technical fields

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university / college in a Science, Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline with 7 years of Reliability, Maintainability or Test experience

  • 3 + years of experience in managing people and projects

  • Must-have the ability to obtain/maintain a dod secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree in STEM discipline

  • Strong working knowledge of proactive obsolescence management processes

  • Understanding of RM&T analyses and methodology

  • Experience mentoring new hires and encouraging employee engagement

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skillset

  • Proficient with standard Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Active Secret clearance
