Northrop Grumman's Manned Aircraft Design Center of Excellence located in Melbourne Florida has an immediate opening for an experienced engineer specializing in crew and equipment mechanical design. The chosen candidate will have a demonstrated ability to perform design of aircraft secondary structures. Candidate will have experience in cockpit design, equipment rack layout, design, and integration. Candidate will be familiar with creating and managing interface control documents with suppliers and associated stakeholders. Candidate will be familiar with cockpit and equipment mounting requirements related to size, weight, power, cooling, environmental, and electrical bonding. This role requires an individual with demonstrated team leadership experience and ability to perform integration activities. Experience in the procurement of aircraft hardware with related supplier management skills is also desired. Experience with lines routing design also a plus.
This position will bepermanently located in Melbourne, FL. Some travel is required.
Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited universitywith a minimum of9 years' experience related to aircraft mechanical design.
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering plus a Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Technical Management, or an MBA.
Experience with NX and TeamCenter.
