Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Composition Prototype Technician tojoin our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida .
In partnership with the Lab Engineer, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, fabrication, modification, and assembly of composite, metallic, Non Destructive Inspection, and sealants coatings.
It is expected that the Lab Technician, in partnership with the Lab Engineer, will be able to quote, execute, and status all work performed within the lab without significant outside influence required.
Works from TEWO's that may include; written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform novel and unique testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.
Assist in the training and development of Melbourne site personnel in the appropriate use of the lab facilities.
Conducts defined engineering tests and collects data as assigned.
Utilizes autoclave, oven, mill, band saw, salt spray chamber, Semco mixer, specimen polisher, Universal test frame, microscope, MS office Word and Excel, etc. in the execution of test plans and providing the required deliverables.

High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years' experience
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
An active, In-scope DoD Secret security clearance
Experience operating hand tools including drills, routers, and saws in high precision manufacturing processes including computer interface controls and light-duty bench or floor type machine tools.
