Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an AssociateSystems Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Essential Functions:

  • Performing assessments of systems and networks and identifying where those systems and networks have vulnerabilities. This is achieved through automated and manual vulnerability assessments

  • Establishing strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, and periodic audits

  • Assisting in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, RMF), making recommendations on process tailoring, participating in and documenting process activities

  • Performing analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards

  • Supporting the formal Cybersecurity remediation test preparations, participating in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports

  • Documenting the results of Certification and Accreditation activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the system Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university

  • A current DoD Interim Secret level security clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A current DoD Secret or Top Secret/SCI level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • DoDD 8570 certification (GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP) or higher

  • Experience writing Python scripts

  • Experience implementing Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM's) and/or Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG's)

  • Experience identifying, evaluating, and implementing RMF and/or DIACAP controls

  • Previous experience identifying, evaluating, and implementing RMF controls

  • A working knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) technology, NIST standards, DoDI 8500.2 and SP 800-53

  • Experience with JIRA tools

  • Familiarity in the Cybersecurity Lifecycle to include: generating IA requirements, creating IA architecture design, configuring IA audit tools, conducting IA verification and performing IA compliance

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
