Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Data Lead Architect 4to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in McLean, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA's customers. As part of the modernization program, the data lead architect will set and maintain the vision for all Data Engineering aspects of the Program and ensure that this vision is adequately addressed and implemented consistently across all Project teams and Program efforts.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership in the evaluation of existing data and analytics capabilities

Support the development of an overall data architecture for use across the ConsularOne framework

Support a large scale data analytics project team in developing technical architectures.

Bring in hands-on experience to be able to use data science solutions, data acquisition processes and ETL

Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of data across system

Assume a technical lead role for data architecture within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) based team structure and work closely with counterparts within the customer organization

Establish system interface requirements using analysis results in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems


Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Bachelor's degree in STEM and at least 9 years' experience

Experience leading development and operational Business Intelligence and Data Analytics projects that requires complex data governance and access control challenges

Hands-on experience leading the development of data architectures for large scale systems

Ability to provide expertise in design and implementation of data critical applications

Experience in cloud based environments including deploying solutions on public/hybrid clouds

Must have a current, active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearance is acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

Experience with cloud-based data streaming services such as Kinesis

Experience in systems implementation and Big Data Technologies

Agile development experience implementing systems and Data Analytics projects

Experience with Elasticsearch and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB

Experience using open source data management platforms such as Spark and Hadoop
