Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sector Technology Portfolio Lead . The position is in the Operational Excellence and Quality organization and will report to the VP, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing.The Primary location for this position is McLean, VA but may be located at one of our major NGDS site, (e.g., Rocket Center, WV, Huntsville, AL, Plymouth, MN, Northridge, CA or Elkton, MD) Relocation assistance may be available.
Responsibilities include:
Leading Sector technology strategy to support growth
Creating a sector technology portfolio and providing insights to improve return on investment
Collaborating with strategy and business development to assess customer trends driving future technology needs
Collaborating with human resources for technical talent development
Providing technical expertise to support selected IRAD reviews
Representing Defense Systems on Enterprise Technology bodies
Coordinating university collaboration
Assessing industry technical capabilities to inform potential collaboration, make/buy, and related decisions
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing business processes to enable product research and development portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management. Provides product portfolio analyses and reports to management committees for support of decision-making. Leads teams in strategy efforts, lifecycle management planning, and assessments of probability-of-success. Develops systems to support dynamic portfolio management. Serves a key role in portfolio evaluation process. Drives initiatives across functions and research and development units to create fully integrated strategies. Monitors and reports on portfolio status.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with 20 years of experience or a Master's Degree with 18 years of experience or PhD + 15 years of experience
Experience in technology portfolio management including internal and customer-supported R&D
Experience assessing return on investments
Experience in technology maturation and risk reduction, including maturation risk burn down planning and execution
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance up to Top Secret
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with Digital Transformation-related technologies including model-based engineering, system modeling and simulation
Direct experience with technologies including artificial intelligence and machine learning, additive manufacturing of high performance aerospace components, mesh networks, virtual and augmented reality, data analytics, networks, secure communications, cyber resilience, propulsion and power systems, command and control, advanced sensors, guidance and control, advanced materials, condition-based maintenance, energetics, public health, bioinformatics, and life sciences.
