Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) Sector Contract Operations team is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Contract Tools Information Systems Administrator to develop and maintain administration of multiple web based applications, including, but not limited to the Contract Management System, SharePoint eRWA Tool, and other SharePoint sites. This exciting new position will support and maintain NGDS Contracts' applications and modules with our team in McLean, Virginia . The selected candidate will interface with contracts and business management leadership across the sector as well as other functional stakeholders to maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the NGDS Contracts applications, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules

  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to contracts and business management users

  • Maintains operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network / software / system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management

  • Interfaces with internal and external team members for troubleshooting issues

  • Analyzes internal and external customer requirements and determines equipment and software requirements for solutions by means of automated systems

  • Creates and maintains user and computer accounts and modifies file permissions and security access lists

  • Compiles and/or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior contracts leadership

  • Creates and maintains custom functions and documentation, such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports

  • Tests new releases to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact

  • Develops and documents technical processes and procedures as needed

  • Communicates effectively at all levels of the organization with internal and external customers and partners

  • Adheres to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases

  • Reports project status as required for all recurring and nonrecurring efforts

  • Works under minimal direction and independently determines and develops approaches to solutions

Qualifications:

This position may be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal levels.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Level:

  • Must have one of the following:

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of technical experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), Business Administration, or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of technical experience

  • Master's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of technical experience

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia; remote work will be considered during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Level:

  • Must have one of the following:

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of technical experience

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of technical experience

  • Master's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of technical experience

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia; remote work will be considered during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment

  • Windows Operating Systems support experience

  • Server application administrator experience supporting MS Exchange server, MS Skype for Business, MS SharePoint, SCCM (software deployment), WSUS

  • Ability to support tier 2 and 3 helpdesk tickets

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
