We are seeking either a Principal Software Engineer or a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our talented team in Manhattan Beach, CA, supporting a Military Satellite Communication (MILSATCOM) Payload Ground system.
This position is contingent upon program award and/or customer funding.
In this role, you will develop software tools to support higher-level integration and testing for multi-satellite, multi-orbit configurations. You will also extend and maintain the Messages Database defined in the ICDs.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal S/W Engineer: 5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 Years of relevant experience with Masters; 1 Year of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Senior Principal S/W Engineer: 8 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 6 Years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 Years of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Active DoD Secret Clearance required at the time of application
Experience with full software life cycle (requirement, design, code, test, integration), SW builds, programming standards and practices
Technical experience with the ability to investigate complex scenarios probing into software and data sets driving the process to a resolution
Ability to interface with multifaceted teams, interpreting and troubleshooting issues
Proficiency in languages: C/C++, Python, XML, JSON, JavaScript
Familiarity with OS: Red Hat Linux
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise level of Red Hat Linux and Database environments
Familiarity with SIMICS and VxWorks 7.0
Languages: Java, SQL, PL/SQL
Database: MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, NoSQL (non-relational database)
Understanding of Integration and Test rhythm and workflow
Embedded systems software development, integration, and test experience
Agile practices and Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira, Kanban, Bamboo, BitBucket) experience
Salary Range: $110,300 - $165,500
Salary Range 2: $137,400 - $206,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
