We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Staff Engineer Quality. The role may be based out of any of the following NGMS campuses and will be working a hybrid schedule:

The Sr. Staff Quality Engineer supports the development and advancement of all quality assurance processes across the sector and is integral in engagement with the Enterprise. The selected individual will be able to provide teams with internal and external knowledge of the technical industry and how it impacts the company. Serves as an expert for a significant technical area within the team, the Quality Management System. The selected candidate will be deeply experienced in gathering and assessing large sets of performance data to deliver recommendations for improvement and to assist in navigating complex problem-solving activities with members of the sector wide quality organization. This individual will facilitate collaborative meetings with subject matter experts, provide on-site and virtual support to the team and support process implementation, refinement, and continual improvement to drive excellent outcomes against all KPI's and performance measurements. In addition, this individual will be responsible for ensuring adoption of industry best practices for quality assurance across the sector.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate quality management system health regularly and identify / implement opportunities for continuous improvement of processes, measurements, and audit strategies

  • Collaborate with programs, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions to ensure quality standards are in place and processes are aligned

  • Leverage best-in-class improvement strategies to drive process improvements to identified high risk process areas

  • Monitor corrective action activities for effectiveness and partner cross-functionally to reduce severity and recurrence of issues that impact critical business outcomes

  • Facilitate improvement projects utilizing a wide range of quality improvement tools, leveraging a Lean-Agile approach whenever possible

  • Partner cross-functionally to improve quality performance across the Sector

  • Partner with functional leads to continuously improve on operations quality processes and best practices

  • Sit on Quality Industry committee(s) to influence outcomes of industry requirements and lead efforts to shape requirements within our current processes

  • Serves as organization spokesperson on multiple advanced projects and/or programs that have a direct impact on the sector (both technical and non-technical).

  • Acts as advisor to management, co-workers and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

  • Maintains critical external customer / industry contact to understand their technical needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma certified

  • 14+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelors in a related STEM field+; 12 Years with Masters; 9+ Years with PhD

  • Certified quality auditor

  • Demonstrated ability to formally present technical solutions to senior leadership, recognized as an influencer of change

  • Experience in deployment of process improvement initiatives and working on complex cross functional projects

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Quals:

  • Certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience leading change management

  • Experience supporting industry quality working groups

  • Expertise in developing and executing risk-based audit programs

  • Extensive background as a risk analyst

Salary Range: $143,800 - $249,700

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
