Northrop Grumman Principal Manufacturing Engineer in Linthicum, Maryland
Northrop Grumman's Corporate Internal Audit department is seeking a Business Site Review Auditor to join our team of qualified, diverse audit staff. The Auditor will report to the Operations Audit team Manager.
As part of our mission, Northrop Grumman Corporate Internal Audit (NGIA) has an objective to develop and deploy Northrop Grumman business leaders. This is accomplished through bringing high potential individuals into IA to be groomed and eventually moved back into NG businesses as future leaders.
The NGIA is made up of experienced and respected professionals, many of whom have held senior positions in Northrop Grumman or at other organizations. Our audit professionals have worked in the Program Management, Business Management, Finance, Information Technology, and Quality Management fields.
Job duties include:
Conducting operational audits, which are defined as NG business sites across the U.S. and operational functions such company manufacturing centers. These include any site locations or operations reporting to sectors, major program locations and subsidiaries.
Scope of reviews may cover business functions such as Program Management, Manufacturing Management, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Contracts Management, Physical and Information Security, and General Business Practices. Other areas may be audited based on risk assessments performed during audit planning
Performing a variety of audits and related activities covering operational and financial systems and records, internal controls, policies and procedures, safeguarding of assets, accumulation of costs and other related matters with consideration for both manual and automated processes.
Candidate will interface with senior management on audit-related and business process issues.
Under supervision the candidate is accountable for executing audit programs and establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with auditees and affected management.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Quality, or related field with 5 years of practical work experience in Manufacturing, Production Control/Schedule, Engineering, or Mission Assurance processes; or a Master's degree with 3 years experience.
Relevant experience (Manufacturing) is defined as direct experience working in shop floor environment, manufacturing operations, inventory/logistics environment, safety role, machining and tooling and the ability to articulate and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of their particular area of expertise.
Relevant experience (Engineering) is defined as direct experience in the review of configuration and drawing/release changes, and the impact to operational workflow, master production schedule, material shortages and resource constraints, test engineering and completion of technical CDRLs.
Relevant experience (Mission Assurance) is defined as direct experience working in quality management processes including tracking and response to internal and external corrective action requests (CARS) and the use of corrective action monitoring tools such as CPATS, inspection and test, non-conforming materials/MRB, tracking and verification of required training and certifications, stamp control, calibration requirements, out of tolerance analysis, validation of specifications, and compliance to contract schedule and quality requirements.
Basic knowledge of data gathering analytical tools (SAP, BW, MS office (Excel, Access), ACL) to pull data from ERP systems and analyze and interpret a wide variety of data/information to identify trends, positive and negative correlations, form valid conclusions and present data to best highlight relevant points.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET Clearance
Ability to travel up 33% of the time
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms
Master's or MBA in Industrial Engineering, Operations or related field
Familiarity of Aerospace and Defense Industry. Background in Government Contracting, a plus
Working knowledge of analytical tools (SAP BW, ACL, MS Access & Excel) to organize, analyze and interpret a wide variety of data, information, and ideas to identify trends and form valid conclusions
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other similar certification
Experience with Root Cause/Corrective Action Analysis
