Northrop Grumman Manufacturing Engineer/Principal Manufacturing Engineer in Linthicum, Maryland

Northrop Grumman is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team environment at the Advanced Technology Labs (ATL) in Linthicum, Maryland. You will be working in a Foundry environment, supporting the manufacturing process of integrated circuits for production and development programs on a variety of processing nodes.

Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Silicon Germanium, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly.

Job Duties:

Develops, modifies, applies and maintains manufacturing systems and protocols for processing materials

Collaborates with all engineering disciplines to ensure efficient production of the highest quality product

Devises and implements methods and procedures for manufacturing, inspecting and production equipment

Analyzes manufacturing processes, mechanisms and equipment for efficiency and utilization

Performs statistical analysis to assess the performance of equipment, processes and functions to reduce cycle times

Determines area of possible improvement and documents all required actions to improve the process

Collaborate with technicians to answer any questions and solve technical issues in real time

Conduct briefings and technical meetings for management

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for Manufacturing Engineer:

Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related STEM discipline with minimum 2 yrs relevant industry experience

Experience in a manufacturing environment in an engineering or operations capacity

Knowledge and familiarity of AS9100 or similar external compliance audit certification (ex: ISO9000)

Process creation and compliance experience

Proven ability to deliver process improvements

U.S. Citizenship required

The ability to obtain and maintain a US. Secret Clearance

Basic Qualifications for Principal Manufacturing Engineer:

Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related STEM discipline with minimum 5 yrs relevant industry experience (MS with minimum 3 yrs relevant industry experience)

Experience in a manufacturing environment in an engineering or operations capacity

Knowledge and familiarity of AS9100 or similar external compliance audit certification (ex: ISO9000)

Process creation and compliance experience

Proven ability to deliver process improvements

U.S. Citizenship

The ability to obtain and maintain a US. Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Green belt certified

Experience dispositioning of non-conforming material, work plan review, manufacturing readiness review, and root cause/corrective action analysis

Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) working knowledge

5S methodology experience

Wafer fab / integrated circuit manufacturing experience

Active Secret or higher level clearance
