Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a candidate with leadership skills to serve as Sensor Solutions Systems Engineering Section Manager in the Sensor Solutions Systems Engineering functional homeroom. An important aspect of this role is leadership with focus on growing the organization to meet both current and future mission needs.
The position is a manager of managers with a primary focus on Systems Engineering IPT Leads and growing the competency in Sensor Systems Engineering IPT leadership. The candidate will standup up this new organization to grow employee's IPT leadership, grow CAM skills, implement agile approaches and setup a pipeline of Systems Engineering IPT leads. After the standup of this initial organization of Systems IPTs, additional Core Sensor domain groups will be added to the organization, likely to include Sensor resource management technical contributors.
The candidate is expected to be someone currently in a management position. The candidate must possess strong people development, organizational and communications skills. The candidate will initially spend 30% of their time on support of the organization and 70% of their time on technical program IPT or SEIT leadership work. As the organization expands over time, the candidate will spend 50% of their time on programs and 50% of their time on the organization.
The position is a functional management position and additionally requires taking time to set goals for their employees, communicate those goals, hold their employees responsible for the goals, write thoughtful and accurate performance appraisals and follow the documented performance management process. The candidate will coach and develop their employees and help them with their career development and training.
