Northrop Grumman F-35 Aircraft Fuel Cell Tech 3 in Lemoore, California
Northrop Grumman Technology Services (NGTS) is seeking an F-35 Contractor Field Team Fuel Cell Technician to support aircraft modification and heavy maintenance programs at NAS Lemoore, CA as part of the Maintenance Repair Overhaul and Upgrade (MRO&U) Contractor Field Team.
The selected candidate willconduct MRO&U maintenance, inspections, and servicing in support of Field-Level Modifications and Time Compliance Technical Data (TCTD) maintenance operations.Thetechnician willbe responsible for following engineering drawings, technical manuals and structure repair manuals in the execution of MRO&U operations. Perform removal, installation, and inspection functions of fuel cells and assembly, and installation of components such as fuel lines, hardware, and fittings on various aircraft. Analyze various aircraft sealing, structural, and assembly drawings, to detect seal level deficiencies. Diagnose results of leak test to detect drawing, specification, structural and assembly sealing errors. Perform disassembly and teardown operations of aircraft fuel systems and related components. Remove fuel cell components from aircraft, following specific procedures and techniques. Install fuel cell components, following specific procedures and techniques. Use appropriate pressure test equipment, and make repairs as required. Check condition of fuel cells for any type of damage; and cavity, for condition of internal fittings. Work from operation sheets, diagrams, blueprints, engineering orders, mil-specs and verbal instructions. Assist other aircraft mechanics as required.
The selected candidate's performance will directly affect Northrop Grumman's objective of optimizing our role as a key partner in the F-35 program. This position may require travel to other Department of Navy CFT locations for extended periods.
High School Diploma/GED and 4 years work experience; or an AA degree and 2 years of work experience
Aircraft fuel cell maintenance experience
Hands-on working experience in USAF, Navy or Marines aircraft maintenance discipline or equivalent Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) or FAA certification
Must have an Active Secret Clearance or higher (US Citizenship required)
Able to meet the physical demands of this position, including : regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
5 th Generation structures/sheet metal experience
Knowledge of Safety, Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Supply and HAZMAT programs
