Are you ready to put your Leadership experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems Sector (NGDS) wants you to join our team as a Mission Assurance Manager 3. This position is full time, located on-site in Lake Charles, LA. You will be supporting the Logistics and Fabrication Solutions (L&FS) Operating Unit (OU), which consists of a diverse portfolio of programs across multiple sites (including OCONUS).
Roles and Responsibilities :
Establish and implement a strategic vision for Mission Assurance that supports the LFS OU’s overarching goals and objectives while driving affordability and long-term improvement through first time quality and highly effective root cause and corrective actions
Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) aligns with the strategic direction of the organization, and that the processes, audits, training, and required equipment are suitable, adequate and effective to perform the programs’ statements of work
Ensure compliance with the QMS through execution of internal surveillances and audits, and act as the QMS Management representative for third party and customer audits
Ensure Quality and Mission Assurance policies, procedures, and processes are in place to assure the performance and quality of products with conformance to AS9100, AS9110, established standards, specifications and customer requirements
Maintain the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance, and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics
Ensure timely preparation of proposal BOEs for the QMA team
Lead collaboration with Program Management, Depot Operations, Flight Line Maintenance, Engineering, Supplier Quality and Global Supply Chain to ensure quality is inherent in every requirement, design, work product, and end-product delivered by Northrop Grumman
Frequently collaborate with directors, cross-functional leaders and customer representatives, including DCMA representatives, concerning audits, projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications
Promote the professional development of the quality workforce and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement
Mentor and develop direct reports to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring junior personnel in quality methods and procedures
Monitor and report on quality metrics, process improvements, corrective action boards, and program audit / performance metrics and processes
Lead root cause and corrective action analyses (RCCA) and failure investigations for high impact issues and teach/coach/mentor personnel in use of RCCA
Required Skills/Qualifications :
Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to work on-site in Lake Charles, Louisiana
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance - Secret
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience; or Master's degree with 7 years of related experience. Related experience includes US military or commercial experience in an aircraft, aerospace, space maintenance, or manufacturing environment with a minimum 4 years in a quality role, with a quality Job title, performing quality functions.
Ability to operate and lead in a team environment and teach and mentor others to manage in the same way.
A strong willingness to learn, take initiative and resolve issues.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple Functions, teams and projects resulting in improvements.
Knowledge of the Risk Management process and QMA’s risk management roles
AS9100 or equivalent QMS knowledge and experience
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, change management, and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications :
FAA A&P License
Current DOD security clearance of Secret or higher
AS9100D Lead Auditor Certification
Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
Supplier Quality Process knowledge and Experience
Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
BOE creation and demonstrated knowledge of the proposal process
Knowledge and experience working to DCMA INST 8210.1/ NAVAIR 3710.1
P-3, E-6B, KC-135, B-707 platform experience
Experience managing quality operations on the shop floor
Experience interfacing with and building/maintaining positive relationships with the DCMA team
Salary Range: $146,800 - $220,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
