Northrop Grumman is seeking a Network Administrator / Principal Network Administrator (AHT) to work with the 705 Combat Training Squadron (CTS) Infrastructure, Development and Engineering (IDE) program to develop and maintain simulation software (SW) and hardware (HW) solutions, build, and maintain network infrastructure, design, and develop simulation SW applications, and evolve and conduct Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) activities for the 705 CTS and Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC). This position is in Albuquerque, NM.
Responsibilities for the Network Administrator / Principal Network Administrator include:
Maintain smooth operation of LAN/WAN/VPNs.
Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware in support of customer requirements.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware / software interconnection, as well as interfaces, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.
Propose solutions to management.
Ensure all communication requirements (based on future needs and current usage) are configured to optimize cost savings.
Create and ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
Provide regular monitoring, and network analysis, regarding short and long-range planning for [in-house] systems.
May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.
Design networks, or portions of networks, including the selection of hardware and software packages.
Provide incident and service request support in accordance with enterprise SLAs.
Plan, manage and implement complex network designs in support of customer requirements.
Install and configure routers, switches and firewalls. (Cisco/Palo Alto)
Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies such as VLANs, trunking (port tagging), spanning-tree and protocols.
Implement and troubleshoot WAN technologies such as EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and telco circuits (T1, T3, OC3)
Interface regularly with customers and manage customer installation timelines and deliverables to help facilitate successful deployments.
Utilize Microsoft Office products (Visio, Project, PowerPoint and Excel) to create documentation as needed
Basic Qualifications: Network Administrator
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR Master's degree and 0 year of experience; 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree
Experience designing and maintaining LAN & WAN based networks, managing routing protocols on large LAN environments, and experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls) is required
Must have a DOD 8570 IAT level 2 baseline certification (example: Security+ CE); OR must have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date
Active DoD Secret clearance
Basic Qualifications: Principal Network Administrator
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience OR Master's degree and 3 year of experience; 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree
Cisco CCNP, or CCIE
Experience designing and maintaining LAN & WAN based networks, managing routing protocols on large LAN environments, and experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls) is required
Must have a DOD 8570 IAT level 2 baseline certification (example: Security+ CE); OR must have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date
Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, SolarWinds, Opnet, etc.) would be nice to have
Experience with configuring TACLANES would be ideal
Experience designing and maintaining LAN & WAN based networks
Experience with managing routing protocols on large LAN environments
integration, capacity analysis and system architecture design
Demonstrated leadership skills, or previous management of small teams, would be helpful
Top Secret clearance helpful
Salary Range: $66,600 - $99,800
Salary Range 2: $82,000 - $123,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
