We have several opportunities for Aircraft Mechanics based in Jacksonville. We are looking for highly motivated and confided individuals who are familiar and proficient in the job requirements on the F/A -18 Legacy and Super Hornet Platform. Must demonstrate the abilities to perform troubleshooting, installation, operation, maintenance, modification and repairs of Airframe and Powerplant systems. Must follow strict adherence to DOD, manufacturer, company, and supplier directives and publications. Ability to keep up with a fast-paced and aggressive work schedule in extreme conditions, while complying with all Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and CDC safety and health practices.
Able to use daily deck and related publications to perform daily and turnaround inspections on aircraft.
Able to test, troubleshoot, and turn aircraft before delivery to customer.
Must have basic understanding of the theory of operation of the fuel and hydraulic systems on the F/A-18 platform.
Able to participate in Aircraft Towing evolutions, including driving, directing, wing-walking, brake-riding, and chock-walking.
Able to correctly and accurately service aircraft with nitrogen, engine oil, and hydraulic
Able to participate in Aircraft Weight and Balance measurements
Able to safely participate in Aircraft Jacking evolutions.
Able to assist teammates in other various Powerplant, Airframe, Environmental Control
Must be familiar with the operation of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) used on the F/A-18 platform, i.e. Tow Tractor, Tow Bar, External Hydraulic Pressure Cart, Nitrogen Servicing Cart.
Must be able to clearly document maintenance, and repair actions, as well as correctly tagging and labeling removed parts in accordance with Boeing Procedures.
Must be familiar with basic hand tools, pneumatic tools, calibrated tools, and measuring tools. As well as the mechanical aptitude to use them correctly on the job
Able to perform any other duties as directed by supervisor, manager, or team lead for the benefit of the company
