Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Composites Machinist Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Iuka, MS where technology and teamwork come together.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

As a Machinist in our Iuka Facility, you will work on and inspect High Value aerospace composites utilizing Machining Centers and Hand Operations. This job involves machining composite parts per specification by setting up and operating CNC equipment. The Machinist is responsible for: quality of the product by performing both in-process and final part inspections, care, and maintenance of the equipment, assuring tooling and materials readiness, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position will require the individual to provide training to others in all aspects of CNC equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.

Shits Available:

This position can be filled at the varying shift times below. Shift differential will be paid during eligible shifts.

A Shift Monday-Thursday Days 7:00AM-5:30PM

B Shift Monday-Thursday Nights 7:00PM-5:30AM

C Shift Friday-Sunday Days 7:00AM-7:30PM

D Shift Friday-Sunday Nights 7:00PM-7:30AM

Basic Qualifications

This requisition may be filled at a Composites Machinist Level 2/3 based on the qualifications below.

Composites Machinist Level 2

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education or experience in manufacturing, production, operations or related field.

  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 50lbs

  • Ability to read and interpret production specifications, production diagrams, blueprints, assembly drawings, and technical specifications

  • Ability to utilize complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, and feeds and speeds

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. Clearance is not required to apply.

Composites Machinist Level 3

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education or experience in manufacturing, production, operations or related field.

  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 50lbs

  • Ability to read and interpret production specifications, production diagrams, blueprints, assembly drawings, and technical specifications

  • Ability to utilize complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, and feeds and speeds

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of CNC 3-5-axis machining experience or CMM experience

  • CNC Machinist Certification from an accredited Trade School

  • Ability to understand and work with knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and disciplines.

  • Experience with and fundamental understanding of G-Code

  • Functional understanding of GD & T

  • Experience in following written set-up instructions and /or performing unique set-ups

Salary Range: $38,900 - $64,800

Salary Range 2: $46,300 - $77,100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
