Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking qualified candidates for a General Accounting Manager role in Irving, TX. The manager of General Accounting provides leadership and guidance to the enterprise and sector specific accounting shared services organizations.

The position supports multiple Northrop Grumman operating sectors and has oversight of the following general accounting responsibilities:

• Manages the month end, quarter and year end accounting close requirements

• Maintains the general ledger chart of accounts

• Manages the account reconciliation process for owned accounts

• Prepares, reviews and approves journal entries

• Manages signature authorization process

• Performs intercompany accounting

• Manages international accounting

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Partners with Northrop Grumman operating sectors to harmonize business processes; proactively recommends and executes modifications to processes, policies and practices

• Makes decisions that require evaluation of many alternatives; these decisions may be made under conditions of uncertainty or where little precedent exists

• Represents the functional/business unit or program as internal and external contact for business management; interacts with VP leadership, Controllers and business partners

• Strategically transitions the General Accounting shared services organization into a service center structure

• Accountable for results that impact sector Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan outcomes

• Management and leadership of a geographically dispersed staff

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with at least 12 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience

• At least 3 years of prior management experience

• Experience working with DCAA/DCMA, internal audit and external audit

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, CAS and DFAR

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA

• Experience with SAP S/4, Central Finance

• Experience working in a shared services organization

• Enterprise/Corporate accounting experience
