Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly qualified Software Engineer to support the Rushmore program located in North Yorkshire, England. The successful candidate must have software development experience and the ability to work in a structured configuration controlled environment. The candidate will provide support and maintenance for real-time software applications that are hosted on a broad range of networked computing systems.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Maintaining multiple operational software baselines

  • Integrating factory delivered software into operational baselines with care/deliberation to understand impacts

  • Investigation and diagnosis of unexpected system issues

  • Communicating with customer both verbally and in written form providing situational awareness and technical analysis of problems

  • Providing on-call 24/7 emergency anomaly response to collect diagnostic data and support restoration of operations

A comprehensive overseas compensation package is offered with this position

An initial 2-year tour commitment is required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with at least 5 years relevant experience; Master's Degree with 3 years relevant experience.

  • Previous experience installing, integrating and testing of software

  • 3 + years Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience

  • Previous experience with troubleshooting and performing software analysis

  • Scripting and automation of administrative tasks

  • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to obtain CISSP or Security + certification

  • Current SSBI and ability to possess/retain SCI clearance with current SSBI and counter intelligence polygraph is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal) and proven ability to work as a member of a diverse team

  • Previous experience installing, integrating and testing of software on operational systems

  • Previous experience with troubleshooting and performing software analysis on operational systems

  • Operational system anomaly response experience is a plus

  • Experience developing and maintaining C/C++/Java/Scripting software

  • LDAP/ X500 experience

  • VMS experience is a plus

  • Rushmore domain knowledge
