Northrop Grumman Space Sector SDS Division is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer . This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Advanced Programs organization. This position will be responsible for a variety of modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts. Engineers will support various aspects of trade study efforts with existing tools such as Cameo.
What you'll get to do:
Provide technical contributions to a growing Advanced Programs team of designers and analysts focused on conceptual and preliminary design and technology maturation for obsolescence and capability upgrades to existing deterrent systems such as Minuteman III and Ground Based Strategic Deterrent as well as new advanced concepts for future deterrence needs in the areas of ballistic and cruise missiles, nuclear command, control, and communication, and support systems/subsystems such as cyberdefense, security, decision aides, etc.
Contribute to various Advanced Programs projects in reentry vehicle trade studies, architecture development, and system engineering to produce credible conceptual and preliminary payload designs that meet potential customers' performance, cost, schedule, and risk thresholds while informing them of the surrounding design space for capability considerations, especially capability versus life cycle cost versus technical availability date.
Define, document, decompose, trace, and establish verification methods for requirements associated with reentry vehicle advanced concepts. Support definition of and maintenance of external and interface interfaces.
Demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.
Operate in an advanced design environment and collaborate across the Space Sector Divisions and other Sectors as required to accomplish the team goals.
Conceptualize and mature new business for growth of the Division.
Transition innovative solutions, technologies, and advanced concepts for US strategic deterrence interests to programs of record for product development and fielding.
This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with investigation in last 6 years. Ability to obtain an SAP clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in Engineering (any discipline, Mechanical/Aeronautical/Electrical preferred) / Physics, Mathematics, Computer, or a similar technical discipline.
Fourteen (14) years of experience with Bachelor's of Science, 12 years with a Master's of Science
Experience in one or more of the following knowledge areas: Aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Ground or Flight Testing, Trade Studies, Modeling Simulation and Analysis (MS&A), Object Oriented Programing (OOP), Mission Planning.
Ability to effectively communicate and present complex technical concepts to project, program, and company management, other technical managers, and customers.
Excellent team building skills and ability to complete tasking with minimal direction.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Demonstrated technical expertise in the areas of modeling, simulation and analysis.
Experience with one or more of the following simulation tools: AFSIM, STK, or other system of system modeling tools.
Experience in Cameo.
Salary Range: $146,300 - $219,500
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
