Northrop Grumman Principal/Sr Principal Test Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Test based out of Huntsville, Alabama on the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) Poland contract, a US Army foreign military sale to Poland for its medium-range air and missile defense program. IBCS integrates disparate radars and weapons to construct a far more effective IAMD enterprise. IBCS delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas. By implementing IBCS, Poland will transform its IAMD capabilities in a manner consistent with the U.S. Army.

As a test engineer on the Poland program you will:

  • Design, develop, implement, and execute test plans and procedures to complete system-level integration testing.

  • Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating test product.

  • Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, or new testing requirements.

  • Document results of completed testing.


Basic Qualifications:

  • For a Principal Test Engineer: Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience as a Systems/Test Engineer, 3 years with a Master's degree, OR 0 years with a PhD

  • For a Sr Principal Test Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience, 7 years with a Master's, OR 4 years of experience with a PhD

  • Ability to understand and interpret requirements and test guidance to complete system-level integration testing

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset

  • Experience developing testing criteria to satisfy requirements

  • Excellent decision making and communication (written and oral) skills

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in an IPT environment

  • Active Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to all parts of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle

  • Experience in DOORS/JIRA

  • Experience in Agile work environment

  • Security + certification
