Northrop Grumman Space Sector is searching for Principal/Sr. Principal System Security Engineers to join the Launch Missile Defense System to support the Next Generation Interceptor Program in Huntsville, AL and Chandler, AZ.

These positions are contingent upon contract award anticipated in December 2020/January 2021 timeframe.

The Principal/Sr. Principal System Security Engineer will be responsible for:

• Developing requirements and verification plans

• Ensuring consistency of requirements and verification plan implementation in the requirements database

• Interfacing with the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team to integrate DOORS with requirements and verification architecture models

• Performing capability assessment evaluations

• Non-compliance adjudication

• Supporting lower level development entities including major subcontractors to ensure designs/artifacts are compliant with AF and DoD criteria for System Safety.

These positions may be offered at the Principal Engineer System Security Level 3 or at the Sr. Principal Engineer System Security Level 4.


Basic Qualifications:

If offered at the Principal Engr System Security Level 3:

5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.

Bachelors of Science Degree OR higher in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science.

If offered at the Sr. Principal Engr System Security Level 4:

9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.

Bachelors of Science Degree OR higher in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required

  • Ability to travel 10% is required Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience and knowledge of Program Protection Plans (PPP) and Program Protection Implementation Plans (PPIP)

  • Direct experience with the following standards/guidelines: DoDI 5200.48, DoDI 5200.44, DoDI 5200.39, DoDI 8510.01, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-161

  • Direct experience conducting Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments, Criticality Analyses, Anti-Tamper, FMECA, and STPA

  • Experience in executing all phases of Systems Engineering activities to include Requirements development/management, and Verification and Validation (V&V)

  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo)

  • Knowledge in the fields of CUI/CDI Protection, Supply Chain Risk Management, Software/hardware assurance, supply chain risk management, anti-counterfeit protections, defense exportability features, trusted foundry, and information security.
