Northrop Grumman Principal/ Sr Principal Engineer Systems in Huntsville, Alabama
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Systems based out of Huntsville, Alabama on the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) foreign military sales efforts. IBCS integrates disparate radars and weapons to construct a far more effective IAMD enterprise. IBCS delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas. By implementing IBCS into their militaries, other nations will transform their IAMD capabilities in a manner consistent with the U.S. Army.
As a Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Systems, you will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Perform analysis at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications:
Principal: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
Sr. Principal: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Design experience that resulted in implementation of an operational product; including the ability to make quick design decisions and produce design artifacts from which developers may write code -- develop Concepts, Epics, Features
Experience at the higher and lower levels of system architecture, design, and model-based engineering and the use of each of these in the test process
Experience in developing system test, analyzing data, and the development and documentation of new capabilities for current systems and as new systems are brought into the architecture.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Agile or SAFe
Technical experience with AMD: C2 (highest priority) with understanding of weapons, sensors, distributed computing, Type-1 computing (and these systems impact on a command and control system's architecture, requirements, and interfaces for communications between these systems)
Experience with object oriented analysis/design or equivalent paradigms, where the requirement analysis process results in useable design artifacts.
OOA/D experience with relational tool such as MagicDraw, Rhapsody, RoSE, etc.
Ability to understand code on an as needed basis (e.g., C++ of similar)
Design and implementation experience that resulted in Classification, Identification, and Discrimination (CID) algorithm implementations, SME in existing, modern CID algorithms and techniques for AMD
Joint interoperability specialist: experience developing or testing Link-16, IBS, or IFF
RF and communications specialist: add capacity to adverse condition maturation
Track Management specialist: experience and understanding of the Track Management algorithms
