Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking The Software Engineer - This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support The Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS) program. IBCS's enhanced aircraft and missile tracking improves the ability of combatant commanders and air defenders to make critical decisions within seconds. With its truly open systems architecture, IBCS enables integration of current and future sensors and weapon systems and interoperability with joint C2 and the Ballistic Missile Defense System

If you have a background in applied mathematics, physics and you love coding algorithms in java , this position is for you. This position requires physics & mathematics based algorithms to be coded in java and ability to understand existing algorithms coded in java:

• Designs, develops, tests functionality

• Designs and develops algorithms

• Development in agile environment with multiple teams collaborating

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM- related field and 5 years of relevant experience coding algorithms in java; or 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD

• Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance

• Candidate should have:

o Experience with working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on cross-functional Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery

o Experience with Java/C++ development

o Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery

o Familiarity with version control software ( eg Git/SVN ), Jira/ atlassian confluence

o Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems

o Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), Scaled Agile Framework

Preferred Qualifications:

  • full stack software engineer, Java, Junit, Jtest

-experience in high level application development

  • experience developing, debugging algorithms

-experience in Air & Missile Defense Command and Control programs such as PATRIOT, SENTINEL, C2BMC or THAAD or any sensor/weapon system, Link 16 experience

  • interfacing directly with operating systems for implementation of device drivers and controlling micro processers via direct and indirect interfaces
