Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Manager Project Management 2 located in Huntsville, Alabama. Oversee and manage the strategic planning, metrics development and operational aspects of new and ongoing projects for the program. Serve as a liaison between program management, business management, project team leads, and line management. Supports program reviews including status of program projects and budgets; manages team schedules and prepares required status reports. Assists in the assessment project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops options and mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. Develop, plans and schedules for program specific proposals. Lead efforts to develop and compile cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications across program and functional organizations. Participates as a member of the contract negotiating team. Serve as lead and provide leadership for the programs Risk and Opportunity board.

Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related field and 9 years of related experience.
Professional experience on large program proposal activities as a lead or major contributor
Experience as a Manager, Product team lead, or team lead responsible for daily tasks of team members or organization
Experience developing detailed information associated with an Integrated Master Schedule
Experience developing and maintaining detailed Risk and Opportunities on a large defense contract
Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program/project managers, functional managers, and customers.
Establishes project milestones and monitors adherence to the processes and schedules, identifies project risks and manages risk mitigation or solutions.
Ensures that contract requirements are met by by all participating functional organizations and vendors or suppliers which are necessary to meet project requirements.
STEM Related Degree
Experience working on US Air and Missile Defense contract
Experience developing and maintaining project budgets and schedules ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within
cost. Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
MS degree and 7 yrs related experience .
