This position is for a Software Systems Engineer for the Northrop Grumman Technical Services (NGTS) at Hill AFB, Utah. This role is in support of the Ground Subsystems Support Contract (GSSC) focused on ICBM Operational and Training Systems software. This engineer will perform software system engineering activities for the Minuteman III ICBM operations, command/control, coding, mission planning, trainers and support software. Candidate shall perform software engineering functions to include requirements and design analysis, code level peer reviews, technical support for software design reviews, and testing of ICBM operational software and Minuteman trainers. Functions may also involve researching solutions to customer and team-developed discrepancy reports and AF Forms 1067 modification proposals; often addressing interface complexities between legacy VAX/VMS systems and modern technology.This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below .
This requisition may be filled at either a level2 or a level 3
BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field
Minimum 2 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or a minimum of 0 years with master's (Level3 requires a minimum of5 years with a bachelor'sor3 years with a master's)
Demonstrated experience and application of systems engineering principles, theories and concepts.
Demonstrated history of performance in software coding and test in anyof the following languages and development environments: ADA, FORTRAN, C++, C#, Microsoft Visual Studio, Digital Equipment Corporation Understanding of hardware/software integration concepts
US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Top Secret Clearance.
User/programmer experience with ICBM operational Trainers and operational Command and Control software for the Minuteman III system
Familiar with requirement and system level testing methodologies, plans and procedure development and test execution experience
Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems
Responsible, self-sufficient engineer capable of performing tasks with general guidance
Strong communication skills including technical writing and verbal presentations.
Experience in the military aerospace development environment
Familiarity with Nuclear Surety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) process
Experience with software requirements authoring, refinement and negotiation.
Ability to write system level specification requirements documents.
Demonstrated performance, leadership and direct AFNWC & AFGSC customer support
Direct experience with software products used by USSTRATCOM for ICBM codes, mission planning, nuclear munitions and underlying software architectures
Direct experience with ICBM training devices for operations, maintenance and security force personnel
Familiarity with process/procedure development, control and improvement.
