The Technology Services sector is currently hiring a Software Engineer at our Hill AFB, UT location. This role may include the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

  • Ensures software standards are met.

  • Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.

  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

  • Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.

  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.

  • May represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Develops computer systems specifications that address business requirements and that fit with the company's system architecture standards.

  • Establishes and documents system parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.

  • Revises existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or Data Processing

  • 14+ Years of applicable experience with Bachelors in Science; 12+ Years with Masters; 9+ Years with PhD

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

  • Software development experience such as: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, and JQuery, or other object oriented languages

  • Experience with an Agile Framework

  • Strong experience developing and troubleshooting applications

  • Experience with software design, code, test, and sustainment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher

  • 5+ years progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.

  • 5+ years recent ICBM experience.

  • Agile Certifications (Scrum Master, Product Owner, etc)

  • Technical certifications that support Software Development

  • Experience with CMMI and/or Six Sigma
