The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Technology Services Sector in Herndon, VA as an Program and Operations Intern . The selected candidate will work in a strategic and dynamic people-focused environment within our Advanced Defense Services (ADS) Division where he/she will work and learn about what it is we do as well as gain some experience in:

  • Work with the Program Excellence Team in a support capacity helping to ensure our programs are executing at a high level.

  • Work in an Operations capacity to develop and implement tools meant to streamline day to day operations support.

Additional Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Dual role of assisting both the Program Excellence Team with program management support, and the Division Operations Manager in preparing for meetings through developing briefings and gathering data.

  • Develop capabilities and efficiencies in the SharePoint site.

  • Work on special projects and assignments to support the division objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Enrolled full time or having received an undergraduate degree in Business or related discipline.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.

  • Well-versed in SharePoint.

  • Proven working knowledge of MS tools: MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook.

  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for 10-12 weeks during the summer 2018 semester.

  • Must be able to obtain a top secret clearance.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher

  • Willing to work in a strong team environment; ability to interface with multiple groups and teams

  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize assigned work and meet deadlines; detail oriented

  • Have completed at least junior year

  • Differentiating characteristics include: leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starter and demonstrate leadership skills shown through involvement in professional, community, athletic or and academic extracurricular activities

  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations, leading small group discussions and communicating in a virtual setting

  • Ability to lead projects from concept to completion utilizing data and data analytics
