The structural engineer will prepare analyses to support the development, manufacturing and structural substantiation of metallic, non-metallic or composite structural materials. Candidates must be able to develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives in a high paced environment. The use of computer-aided analysis programs such as finite element analysis and classical hand analysis techniques is required to determine basic data and perform analyses of internal loads, stresses, and fatigue life. The position requires the ability to communicate clearly and coordinate with other engineering disciplines to develop engineering solutions. Candidates must be capable of performing peer reviews of analysis, drawings and repairs for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and requirement(s) conformity. As a Level 5 Engineer, technical oversight of other structural analysis personnel is required. A demonstrated ability to lead others is necessary.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 14 years' experience in Aerospace Structural Analysis or Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years' experience in Aerospace Structural Analysis.
Proficiency in classical aerospace detailed stress analysis.
NX NASTRAN or FEMAP experience
Fatigue (crack initiation) analysis experience
Structural test experience (e.g. static, fatigue, subcomponent, coupon, or flight test)
